CHALLENGES FORUM 2008. The first Challenges Forum was hosted by France in October 2008 and adressed "Partnerships - The United Nations, the European Union and the Regional Dimensions of Peace Operations: Examples of Cooperation within the Framework of Chapter VIII of the UN Charter". The Forum had some 300 participants including high level officials from the UN, EU, AU and NATO.

UN PK DOCTRINE. The first UN Peacekeeping Capstone Doctrine was signed by the UN USG for PKO on 18 January 2008. Challenges Partners together with others contributed to the development process.

CHALLENGES PRE-FORUM 2007. The Challenges Partners and key representatives of the UN, AU, EU, and NATO met in New York 13-14 November to address “Looking to the Future – Peace Operations in 2015”. Particular but not exclusive focus was placed on doctrines and principles for multidimensional peace operations – possibilities for enhanced interoperability and harmonization of efforts?

SALTSJÖBADEN WORKSHOP. The Challenges Partners took part in a workshop on the fundamental principles of UN peacekeeping 26-28 September 2006 in Sweden. The Folke Bernadotte Academy in close cooperation with the UN DPKO arranged the first workshop in a series of four with the aim to develop a UN Capstone Doctrine on UN Peacekeeping.

The 14th International Challenges Seminar;"Regional Dimension of Peace Operations in the 21st Century: Arrangements, Relationships, and the United Nations in its Responsibility for International Peace and Security" was hosted by the Nigerian National War College in cooperation with the Armed Forces, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence, 31 May-4 June 2004.
