CHALLENGES FORUM 2009

The International Forum for the Challenges of Peace Operations 2009 was co-hosted by the Permanent Representatives of Pakistan and Sweden to the United Nations in cooperation with Challenges Partners in New York 12-13 November. The theme of the Forum was "A New Horizon for Peace Operations Partnerships – What are the Next Steps?"

The Challenges Forum 2009 provided a platform for an inclusive dialogue aimed at moving forward some of the recommendations in the United Nations New Horizon initiative. The goal was to contribute to a better understanding of the challenges facing the international community of peacekeepers, to identify realistic solutions and to promote their effective implementation.
