This background paper is written by Dr Lotte Vermeij, Senior Expert on UN Peace Operations and Sexual Violence in Conflict at NORCAP/Norwegian Refugee Council, together with Col (Dr) KK Sharma, previously military observer in UNTAC Cambodia and a founding member of the Centre for UN peacekeeping Delhi.
Used for the Challenges Annual Forum 2022, held 6-7 October under the overarching theme Future of Peace Operations.
